STEWART LOWMAN

From the his early days, thriving off of the energy of Thrash
& Heavy Metal, Stewart has needless to say always been passionate
about music. This passion led him to take up playing the drums and,
as one would imagine, developing a penchant for all things percussive
and rhythmically dominant, not to mention a metronome-like sense
of timing.
As happens so much of the time, all it took was a by-chance exposure
to electronic dance music via Warp Record's seminal Artificial Intelligence
releases and from here Stew was hooked. His tastes rapidly took
off in a new direction and within a year of fairly intense exposure
to London's early nineties club scene via the likes of Final Frontier,
Megatripolis and Lost, Stewart had 'traded in' his drums for a set
of turntables and in no time had the basic art of beat-matching
licked… Then Claude Young's inspirational DJ Kicks mix album dropped
and opened his eyes to the musical possibilities of merely 2 turntables
and a mixer. So he took to experimenting with his technical dexterity,
cutting up 2 copies of many of the tracks he was buying at the time.
The rest they say is his-story…
Along with being at the core of The Outlet Collectives operations
Stewart has also held a residency at, the now defunct, Electronic
Box in Yorkshire, playing alongside the likes of Robert Armani,
Mark Broom and Holland's Clone crew.
